Mindfulness is our capacity to be fully
present in our own lives, to be more fully aware of what we are
doing as we are doing it. As we develop our awareness, an inner
stillness naturally grows. We are better able to embrace the
world, better able to respond wisely and lovingly.
Mindfulness engages us completely in the present moment, without being
overwhelmed by our fears, anxieties, worries or sorrows. It allows
us to live free of judgment, and to make everything in our daily
lives sacred and full of meaning, even things as simple as washing
the dishes or turning on an electric light.

mindfulness is an art. It requires our attentiveness and skill, because it encourages us to live in the present moment.
